PASADENA, Calif., November 22, 2006 -- Zebulon Projects presents the world premiere of Mary Lou Newmark's "Street Angel Diaries," directed by Darin Anthony, on the Main Stage for eight performances, December 7 - 9 and 14 - 16 at 8 p.m., and December 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. at Boston Court performing arts complex, 70 North Mentor.
Created and composed by Newmark, "Street Angel Diaries" explores the issues of homelessness through first-person accounts and multi-media, including live as well as recorded music, poetry, soundscapes, storytelling, projections and movement. Cast members are Sue Gaetzman, Barbara Gordon, Robert Owens-Greygrass, Carlos Linares, Kevin T. McCarthy, Togba Norris, Toni Sawyer, Katy Tyszkiewicz, and Newmark.
Creative team includes Z. Clark Branson, executive producer, Mimi Champlin, producer, Eileen T'Kaye, consulting producer, John Pennington, choreographer, Dan Weingarten, scenic and lighting design, Sherry Linnell, costume design, Ellen Juhlin, sound design, and Jeff Teeter, projection design.
Newmark is an award-winning violinist, composer, and poet. She has a traditional classical background, with Master's degrees in violin performance and music composition from USC and UCLA, respectively. Her works encompass a wide range of styles and techniques, incorporating live performance, original poetry and electronically generated sounds into unique pieces that inhabit their own sound world. Newmark maintains a private violin and composition studio in Los Angeles.
Anthony is known for his direction of the runaway hit "The Book of Liz" by David and Amy Sedaris at the Blank Theatre Company, and he recently directed the LA Times Critics' Choice, "A Hole in the Dark" for the Blank Theatre. He is also the Artistic Director of the Living Room Series for the Blank and has been the assistant director on the first two The Theatre @ Boston Court productions.

Union Station Foundation is a community-based, non-denominational, non-profit social service agency serving Pasadena and the West San Gabriel Valley. Union Station Foundation operates a 36-bed adult shelter, a 50-bed family shelter, a 14-unit transitional housing facility for families, an intake and assessment center, and a career development program. All programs and services are provided free of charge.
"Street Angel Diaries" is the concluding event in the 2006 Music at the Court season. Zebulon Projects is headed by raconteur and philanthropist Branson, who financed the Boston Court performing arts complex. Champlin is the producer for Zebulon.
