LA STAGE ALLIANCE HALF-PRICE TICKETING PROGRAM HAS SOLD MORE THAN $1.75 MILLION IN TICKETS
LOS ANGELES, June 26, 2006 Ð LAStageTix, the half-price ticketing program of LA Stage Alliance, has racked up more than $1.75 million in ticket sales and related charges since its inception on the World Wide Web in early 2000. The program offers half-price tickets and the most complete listing of stage events throughout Southern California.
ÒIÕm thrilled to see that the LAStageTix program continues to allow more people to experience, more often, the amazing diversity of theatre produced in greater Los Angeles each year,Ó said Terence McFarland, LASA Executive Director.
The program has saved patrons more than $1.5 million and returned nearly the same amount to member theatres.
ÒLAStageTix is a win-win for the community,Ó said McFarland. ÒTheatre patrons save money and theatres are able to reach new patrons and new dollars that their otherwise limited budgets might not enable.Ó
LA Stage Alliance is a non-profit association and service organization dedicated to building awareness, appreciation and support for the performing arts in greater Los Angeles. In addition to LAStageTix, it operates LA Stage Times and other discounted advertising programs in major Los Angeles media, membership programs for patrons and enthusiasts, a conference exploring the business side of performing arts, lobbying efforts at the local, state and national level, the annual Ovation Awards for excellence in theatre, and publishes LA STAGE magazine.
LAStageTix is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Grants Division and The National Arts Marketing Project's Advanced Training Program, a program of the Arts & Business Council of Americans for the Arts made possible by a grant from the American Express Company.
