MUSIC AT THE COURT PRESENTS KOREAN ARTISTS IN FINAL WEEKEND OF FALL CLASSICAL MUSIC SERIES

Jung Trio and Inyoung Huh

PASADENA, Calif., October 29, 2009 – Boston Court presents the Jung Trio and Inyoung Huh in the final weekend of the Fall Classical Series of the 2009 Music at the Court season at Boston Court Performing Arts Center, 70 North Mentor. The performances are a featured event of the Pasadena Art & Ideas Festival, sponsored by a consortium of arts, science and cultural institutions under the leadership of the Pasadena Arts Council.

On Saturday, November 7, 8:00 p.m., the Jung Trio, including pianist Jennie Jung and her sisters, violinist Ellen Jung and cellist Julie Jung, brings soul-stirring chamber music performances to the Boston Court stage. The Jung trio has established its status as one of the notable rising young ensembles of today and has appeared in concerts all across North America as well as around the world. The Jung sisters have performed individually and together with the Republic of Tatarstan Symphony, Korean Philharmonic, Taejon Symphony, Korean-Canadian, University of Toronto, New York Symphony, and more.

The series concludes Sunday, November 8, 7:00 p.m., with "Alternating Current," an exploration of musical origins by pianist Inyoung Huh. Acclaimed by the Los Angeles Times as "a prominent pianist," Huh, a member of The Perlman Music Program, has won widespread recognition for her unique blend of technical mastery and deep understanding of musical origins. She has been a regular soloist with the KBS Symphony, Korean Youth Orchestra, Puchon Philharmonic, Seoul Symphony, Seoul National University Orchestra, and Bulgaria National Symphony Orchestra. As an active chamber music player, Huh has collaborated with such eminent artists including Itzhak Perlman, Ronald Leonard, Giora Schmidt, Ida Levin and Philippe Bernold.

Music at the Court concerts are held in Boston Court's Marjorie Branson Performance Space, an intimate and acoustically exquisite hall of warm woods and metal construction. Shows are $20 general admission, $15 senior/student for advanced tickets, and $25 general admission/$20 senior/student for tickets purchased at the door.
