MUSIC AT THE COURT FAVORITES RETURN FOR FALL PERFORMANCES

 

PASADENA, Calif., October 8, 2007 -- Zebulon Projects presents a lineup of five audience favorites returning to the Boston Court performing arts complex this fall, continuing the 2007 Music at the Court series at the Marjorie Branson Performance Space, 70 North Mentor. Percussionist Joe La Barbera and his quintet perform an evening of swingin', expansive jazz at 8 p.m., October 20, the always-surprising contemporary classical percussionist Lynn Vartan and violinist Shalini Vijayan team up at 7 p.m., October 21, and The Mighty Echoes, masters of a capella Doo Wop and recent guest-artists on Danny DeVito's FX TV program "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," take the stage at 8 p.m., October 27. Lynn Vartan returns for a solo concert to usher in the holiday season at 8 p.m., November 10, and "by request," Bill Cunliffe shares his solo classical and jazz piano at 7 p.m., November 11.

 

Music at the Court concerts are held in "The Branson," an intimate and acoustically exquisite "living room" of warm woods and metal construction. Tickets for each of the fall performances are $30 and are available online at www.bostoncourt.org. Senior and student discounts are also available.

 

The October concerts are part of the Arts & Ideas "Skin" festival, a collaborative of Pasadena-area arts and cultural organizations organized by the Pasadena Arts Council. The 2008 Music at the Court season lineup will be announced this fall.

 

Zebulon Projects is headed by raconteur and philanthropist Z. Clark Branson, who financed the Boston Court performing arts complex. Mimi Champlin is Zebulon's producer.
