LA STAGE ALLIANCE ADDS three TO BOARD

LOS ANGELES, October 24, 2004 - Michael McDowell, chairman of LA Stage Alliance, announced three new members of the Board of Governors of the consortium of theatrical stage producers and performing arts organizations. The new members recently elected are: Jeb Bonner, vice president and chief financial officer for the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA); Trevor O'Donnell, marketing consultant specializing in performing arts, stage entertainment and cultural tourism; and Michael Ritchie, new artistic director of Center Theatre Group, overseeing the Mark Taper Forum and the Ahmanson Theatre at the Los Angeles Music Center and the new Kirk Douglas Theatre located in Culver City.

Said Bonner of his election, "I'm truly honored to join the LASA board. There's nothing like working in the theatre world to teach you how to make great art with little money and a looming 8 p.m. curtain."

O'Donnell said, "I am honored to serve the LA Stage Alliance. The work the Alliance does to support theatre and the performing arts in Los Angeles is invaluable. I consider it a privilege to contribute to that work."

Said Ritchie, "I am so looking forward to joining my colleagues on the board and to learning much more about the theater community here in Los Angeles. I expect that we will spend much fruitful time together."

Gordon Firemark, chairman of LASA's Board Development Committee, commenting on the three new members, said, "We're proud to add these three individuals to our Board. Michael, Jeb and Trevor each bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, and they all have terrific ideas that will greatly benefit all of us in the L.A. Arts community."
