McCoy Rigby Entertainment presents their 2004/05 season of plays and musicals at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts with their opening show, PETER PAN, starring Cathy Rigby as 'The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up".

Based upon the 1954 musical production first presented as part of NBC-TV's Producers Showcase with Mary Martin in the lead, as well as the 1902 James M. Barrie novel, Peter Pan visit the Darling children in London, consisting of youngest John (Gavin Leatherwood), middle boy Michael (Greyson Spann), and oldest Wendy (Elisa Sagardia). They all take a journey to Never-Never Land, home of the Lost Boys who have no parents. They have their foe, the notorious Captain Hook (Howard McGillin) and his band of pirates--all played to a wonderful music score by Carolyn Leigh and Moose Charlap, with Betty Comden & Adolph Green and Jule Styne.

This show has all of the charm and appeal that has never gone out of style since Peter Pan was first adapted for the stage some 100 years before. The entire cast is wonderful, and McGillin as Hook is the classic form of a real villain. Sagardia as Wendy gives a wonderful performance as well. Special note is Patrick Richwood as Mr. Smee, Hook's right hand man (or right 'hook' man!), who provides a good part of the comedy relief. Patti Columbo's choreography (inspired by Jerome Robbin's original dancing work) moves this show in a high flaooting and lively pace. Glenn Casale directs this entire show into one whimsical production will make anyone believe in fairies in no time flat!

The perfect musical for young and old alike. PETER PAN is terrific. So is Cathy Rigby in her role. She will be taking this show on the road again, but for the last time. She will be 'hanging up her shadow' after its long run. There won't be another Peter Pan as Rigby can play it, so see this production while one can! You'll never grow up again! (Almost!)
