MARCH MADNESS STRIKES LA MIRADA THEATRE;

SIX SPECIAL EVENTS IN ONE MONTH

LA MIRADA, Calif., November 2, 2005 -- La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts presents "March Madness," offering six special events to complement the theatre's Broadway series. "Music, Magic and Memories" will unfold as concerts, magic performances and exotic acts take the stage during the month of March 2006, including Seals and Seals, Petula Clark, "The Fabulous Fifties with Art Linkletter," Golden Dragon Acrobats, "A Day in His Life: The John Lennon Anthology Concert," and "It's Magic!"

"Our special events have been a roaring success in the past, often selling out," said Jeff Brown, executive director of the theatre. "This year we present an eclectic lineup to appeal to all ages, and we've made it easy to see them all by offering discounts. Purchase two events for a 10 percent discount, three for 15 percent, four for 20 percent, five for 25 percent, and you get a whopping 30 percent off for purchasing all six events."

In 2002, Dan Seals of England Dan and John Ford Coley invited his brother Jim Seals of Seals and Crofts to join him onstage at the famed Grand Ole Opry. Those on hand not only jumped to their feet after hearing songs that have become a soundtrack of sorts to a whole generation, but they also witnessed the birth of a new duo. Seals and Seals connect with an audience that appreciates unique songs that cut to the heart of the human experience; songs like "Summer Breeze," "Diamond Girl," and "We May Never Pass This Way Again."

Petula Clark is Britain's most successful solo performer of the 20th Century. Embracing every aspect of show business from critically acclaimed theatrical performances to sell-out concerts around the world, Clark virtually defined the term "International Superstar," appearing in over 30 films, hundreds of TV shows, on dozens of theatre stages and countless concert venues. She has recorded more than 1000 songs, "Downtown" and "I Know a Place" among them, and sold more than 68 million records.

For more than 45 years, Art Linkletter, one of America's national treasures, has performed in two of the longest running shows in America's broadcasting history: "House Party" and "People are Funny." Joining Art on stage in "The Fabulous Fifties" are The Ink Spots, featuring James Eldridge Taylor, and The Four Lads, presenting 50 years of "Moments to Remember."

Transforming 2,000 years of Chinese tradition into an awe-inspiring display of talent and grace, Golden Dragon Acrobats are fresh from their Broadway debut and considered the most successful Chinese acrobatic troupe in the world. This show of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty guarantees to enthrall audiences of all ages. This internationally renowned company is made up of champion acrobats, contortionists and jugglers.

"A Day in His Life: The John Lennon Anthology Concert," presents the music in the style and sound of the original Lennon recordings, performed by Tim Piper. He revives the personality, appearance, mannerisms, and humor of the late John Lennon in a two-hour musical collage of sights and sounds. Piper was E! Channel's choice to portray Lennon in their production of the "John Lennon Story," picked by CBS to appear as Lennon in their TV Movie of the Week, "The Linda McCartney Story" and cast as the singing voice of Lennon for the NBC TV Movie of the Week, "In His Life - The John Lennon Story."

"It's Magic!," celebrating 50 years as a Southern California theatrical tradition, is an all-star stage revue presenting the world's most famous magicians. Producers Milt Larsen and Terry Hill are inviting the magicians that have performed on the show over the years to perform fascinating magical acts ranging from sleight of hand to mind-boggling full stage illusions. The Los Angeles Times calls "It's Magic!" "The liveliest lineup of magic acts this side of Las Vegas. It's a must for magic buffs of all ages!"
